According to police, on Sunday, Nov. 3, Queens resident Tarandeep Oberoi texted a 14-year-old girl offering to sell her alcohol and marijuana, prompting an investigation.
Police said that at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, a Nassau County Police detective contacted Oberoi through text, posing as a minor, asking to meet in front of a Chelsea Place residence in Great Neck Plaza to sell MDMA for an agree upon price.
Oberoi arrived in a 2017 Honda that contained a bottle of alcohol and an alcoholic beverage in the cupholder, police said. Oberoi was placed into police custody without incident.
Following his arrest, Oberoi was charged with attempted endangering the welfare of a child and attempted unlawfully dealing with a child.
Oberoi was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, Dec. 17 and is scheduled to appear back in court at a later date to respond to the charges.
